Meet Tina Shang

Founder and Principal Attorney at Next Step Legal Services PLLC

I’m a lawyer with a broad background in corporate transactions and commercial contracts. I bring experience and knowledge earned from working in large law firms, as an in-house attorney and as a government attorney to entrepreneurs navigating the complexities of business law.

My goal is to use my legal expertise to serve my local community in meaningful ways. I provide friendly, competent legal services for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Eastern Idaho.

    INPEX Corporation, In-House Counsel—negotiated complex contracts in the energy sector including joint venture agreements, off-take agreements, consulting agreements and licensing agreements and advised on corporate governance matters.

    Teton County, Idaho, Civil Counsel—advised on contracts, compliance, employment law, and land use issues.

    I’ve hiked the John Muir Trail solo (210 miles).

    I was a glacier guide in Alaska.

    I worked at a ski lodge in Nagano.

    I’m fluent in Mandarin and Japanese.

    I’m a Teton Surf Classic champion: Gold (2024) and Silver (2023) in the Women’s Masters Division.

    I’m a dog mom to a German Shorthair Pointer named Dakota.

    I’m a wild game cook, and in 2024 I butchered an entire deer by myself.

How does your Teton Valley attorney spend time away from the office?

I enjoy snowboarding in the winter and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. I’m passionate about food and feeding others, and I serve as a volunteer and board member of the Teton Valley Food Pantry.
